Ergashev Anvar Yuldoshevich - composer, conductor, and Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan (2002).

He graduated from the Tashkent Conservatory specializing in piano (1977), composition (1986), and opera-symphony conducting (1994). He worked as a teacher at the Fergana Music College (1977-80) and the Glier Specialized Music School in Tashkent (1980-86). He held responsible positions at the Ministry of Cultural Affairs (1986-88), served as a lecturer at the Tashkent Institute of Culture (1988-94), conductor (from 1993) and artistic director (from 2002) at the Navoi Theater, and chief conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan (from 1998).

He has created symphonic and chamber works such as the «Humo» ballet, 2 piano concertos, a poem for cello and orchestra, a piece for chamber orchestra, a piano trio, a violin and piano sonata, «Oriental Capriccio» for clarinet and piano, as well as music for a number of stage productions. Ergashev is particularly popular for his music composed for films and television movies («Battle of the 3 Kings», «Sherali and Oybarchin», «The Healer», «The Teacher», «The Land Where the Sun Never Sets», «Sharif and Marif», «Brother Sharif in Tashkent», «Golden Boy», «Give Me My Star, Sky», and others), musical fairy tales («Balli Uloqcha», «Yarash-Yarash», «12 Months», «The Snow Queen»), and musical comedies («Anqovlar Chayqovi», «Mittivoy», «Kill Me My Dear», and others).
